Abstract
Knowledge management is important for stamping die manufacturers because the domain knowledge provides their key competitiveness. In this paper, a web-based intelligent stamping die design system is proposed to help small and medium-sized enterprises to manage and exchange their domain knowledge. The XML based case representation, the case storage based on relational database and the whole case retrieval process is introduced in this paper. By decomposing a problem into sub problems and then recomposing the sub solution into a final solution, the case retrieval process can be speeded up and a reasonable result can be attained even in a knowledge poor situation. For verification, a proto system was developed. The running result showed that this framework is feasible.
