Abstract :
A method for phase tracking the glottal pulses in voiced speech to obtain pitch estimates is described. The phase alignment of the glottal pulses is accomplished by correlating the speech waveform with a time-varying adaptive filter matched to previous glottal pulses. The correlation is scored by a pseudometric which is constructed to be invariant under affine transformations of the incoming waveform. The instantaneous pitch period estimates obtained by the glottal pulse alignment algorithm are comparable with hand-marking.<>
