Abstract
A diode-pumped 1319-nm-Nd:YAG laser was used to generate coherent blue light at 440 nm by intracavity frequency tripling using a partly periodically-poled KTiOPO4 crystal as the nonlinear medium. The highest average output power of over 100 mW has been obtained at 440 nm at the pump power of 10 W. Besides the blue light, red light at 660 nm with the output power more than 600 mW was also produced by simply changing the polarization status of the pump beam at 1319 nm.
