Abstract :
Superconducting fault current limiters (SCFCLs) are non-conventional and very promising devices for the electrical network. Some locations in the power network are already standard. In this article, we suggest to use SCFCL in order to allow new architectures for the distribution network. Two different applications are suggested. The first one is to place an SCFCL in series with a transformer (which is a standard location for an SCFCL) and study the meshing feasibility with it. The second application is to use the SCFCL as a "quick disconnector" in order to loop the distribution network in normal operation and to unloop it during a fault.
