  • Abstract
This paper presents a new method for online torque estimation of an induction motor (IM). It uses a fuzzy logic-based system with five inputs: the measured stator winding temperature, the measured stationary d and q components of the stator current, and the estimated stationary d and q components of the rotor flux. The estimator has been trained using a simulator of an IM, and then implemented on a digital signal processor. Experimental results obtained with a rotor-flux-oriented vector-controlled 10 HP drive show good agreement between estimated and real torque
