Abstract :
Wave vectors of Bloch functions in two-dimensional microwave metamaterial structures have been experimentally characterized using complex Fourier transforms of electrooptically derived complex phasor images. Two constituents of Bloch functions, i.e., periodic functions and plane backward-wave envelope functions, have been successfully dissected and characterized in the wave number domain.
