Abstract :
A new approach of structural safety assessment for an existing rigid-frame arch bridge, constructed from multivariate and multi-layer analytic model. The assessment model of structural safety of existing rigid-frame arch bridges on the basis of technical condition, static loading test, dynamic loading test and load-carrying capacity, and the index system is proposed according to multivariate. In this paper, the structural safety of an existing rigid-frame arch bridge is assessed. The results are shown that the approach presented in this paper is high performance and accurate for assessment the bridge. The bridge is assessed as third grade bridge. The proposed approach would certainly help the engineers and policy makers concerned with bridge management to arrive at a systematic judgment and to formulate methodical steps towards retrofitting, rehabilitation, reinforcement or demolition of the bridge.
