Abstract :
EMI is a serious issue faced by designers of high voltage equipment. Also, it is the common problem in power electronics due to high switching speed. There is a new effort to build a high voltage pulse generator for food processing using semiconductor technology. To achieve the specified functions, most attention should be paid to electromagnetic noise rather than integration of the functional modules. This paper discusses noise sources, noise receptors and noise coupling channels in detail in the pulse generator. The strategies to solve EMI issues are also introduced. Good practices on grounding, shielding, filtering, isolation, and bus work are significant for high-voltage power electronics equipment with EMI immunity
