Abstract :
The P-xylene oxidation unit is the key part of PTA (pure terephthalic acid) plant. Due to many uncertain factors such as non-linearity, strong coupling etc., it is hard for traditional control strategies to fulfill the operation objectives. To solve these problems, a kind of real-time expert control system (RECS) is proposed. The successful application of the proposed PECS to a PTA plant in a chemical factory shows that the RECS can not only overcome the real-time problems that perplexed the conventional expert system, by close combination with the HONEYWELL TDC-3000 DCS internal system and friendly man-machine interface, it is also more convenient for operation and correction of an expert knowledge database.
