Abstract
A computer aided design method of a new, superelliptical waveguide polarizer is presented in this paper. The principle of operation of the polarizer is explained, and the design procedure is described. A superelliptical waveguide with two "Gaussian" tapered matching sections is proposed for the purpose of realizing a circular polarizer, which achieves 900 ± 2,50 differential phase shift between the cH11 andi sH11 waves:: for 11,7 - 12,1 GHz frequency range. The input and output VSWR are better than 1,012 for both waves.
