Abstract :
A novel microwave FM-signal discriminator circuit is described using dielectric resonators operated in the HE11¿ mode. The resonators are co-axially mounted into an evanescent-mode cylindrical cavity and coupled with the input and output ports through electrical probes. The balanced-slope transfer characteristic of the discriminator circuit which has been developed for the G-band (4-6 GHz) exhibits a microwave signal sensitivity of .5mV/MHz (after detection) over the bandwidth of 200 MHz.
