Abstract :
Based on the finite volume method (FVM), large-eddy simulation (LES) and Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (FWH) analogy algorithm, a new hybrid technique for acoustical property simulation of induction cookers, so-called FVM-LES-FWH method, is developed in this paper. The FVM, LES and FWH are used to establish numerical equation, compute sound sources, and predict far-field sounds, respectively. To verify the FVM-LES-FWH approach, the simulated results are compared with experimental data. The results suggest that the hybrid FVM-LES-FWH method is accurate and effective for acoustical analysis of the induction cookers. In view of the applications, the newly proposed method can be extended to other fields for solving aeroacoustic problems in engineering.
