Abstract :
A pyramid model self-correction (PMSC) approach has been developed and implemented for reconstructing binary patterns from two orthogonal projections. Making use of the progressive reconstruction procedure in the pyramid structure, the intermediate reconstruction results at each level are used to estimate a new model for the reconstruction at the next lower level. Thus, it allows a binary reconstruction starting with a roughly defined, `a priori´, perhaps bad, model, which will be constantly corrected during the pyramid procedure by incorporating the intermediate results. The reconstruction tends to be stable when the corrected model is similar to the result at the bottom of the pyramid
