Abstract
The connection of a large number of electric vehicles (EV) to the grid, in particular for fast charging, can raise several technical problems or can have significant impacts on power systems like injection of harmonic currents. If there are many electric vehicles in fast charging at the same time, the voltage distortion should exceed the admissible limit. Using photovoltaic (PV) to charge electric vehicles is a good solution to charge EVs. This paper presents an advanced control of PV inverter used as active filters. The proposed control is validated by simulations. Results obtained by simulations show that with the proposed control, the total harmonic distortion (THD) of current and voltage is reduced within the standard limits.
