Abstract :
We present a review of main results obtained with a new approach to analytical and numerical investigation of influence of random inhomogeneities on light propagation in a single-mode fiber light guide (SMFLG). An approach is based on the theory of random groups and allows to obtain in frame of accurate mathematical model some mathematically rigorous and physically meaningful results on the statistical characteristics of complex amplitudes of electric field of light wave. The approach allows also to provide the numerical simulation of these statistical characteristics when rigorous results can not be obtained. The proofs of mathematical assertions presented may find in [1].
