Abstract :
A novel planar dual-band filter with controllable transmission zeros is presented. The filter comprises two quarter-wave line filtering sections which share common via holes and I/O ports. For each band, separate electric and magnetic coupling paths are constructed to produce controllable transmission zeros which can be located either below or above the passband. Three circuit prototypes with different filtering characteristics are implemented and validated by EM simulation and experiment approaches. The filter size, including T-junctions, is only around 20 mm × 10 mm.
