Abstract :
As a convenient platform for sharing 3D models, online 3D model warehouse has huge potential. However, most of them are still using the traditional 2D technology based on text and images which provides only flat results with very limited 3D information. In this paper, we have proposed a novel solution to improve the current state of online model warehouse. Firstly, The only plug-in needed at the client side is Flash Player. Secondly, our system aims at supporting external model loading, multi-angle visibility and rich interaction quite well. Thirdly, model file format converter at the server side is designed to support a wide range of model file formats in the system. The novel solution has greatly improved the current state of online 3D warehouse.
