Abstract :
In this paper, multiresolution data visualization techniques are discussed, which include auto-level-switch between datasets of different resolution, rendering with adaptive resolution and interactive visualization methods for AMR data (Adaptive Mesh Refinement Data). Some key techniques about implementation are summarized in the paper. Observer pattern is used for message passing basing on interfaces of attribute subjects. It leads to update of visualization window and level-switch of different resolution in auto mode. Given threshold appropriate resolution level and relative data blocks are choosed on specified strategy, that high resolution is adopted on data regions varying intensively and low for contrary. Three choices such as rendering whole or partial data on single level or partial data for multi levels are designed for interactive mode. We demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of the interactive visualization techniques with some real physical datasets.
