  • Abstract
The wire rope is widely used in harbors, ships, and many industrial fields. The safety of wire rope closely relates to the life safety and equipment safety. Therefore, the fault detection of wire rope is always study focus in the NDT area. The paper presents a new instrument for localized fault detection of wire rope. By the special structure of detecting transducer, the interfere signal from the leakage field of rope twist can be filter efficiently. After dimension contraction and characteristic value extraction of multi-ways signals, the quantitative Fuzzy recognition for localized faults of wire rope is realized. The testing result shows, the new instrument works better in detecting the localized faults of wire rope.
