Abstract :
The spatial-temporal computational scheme for analysis of 3-D photonic crystals is presented in the paper. The model boundary value problems are formulated rigorously using the exact absorbing conditions for virtual boundaries in a cross section of the rectangular Floquet channel. Basic analytical results that define general properties of the scattered fields in frequency and time domains are obtained. These results are illustrated by examples of numerical analysis of 3-D photonic crystals. The developed models and algorithms allow one to study physical features of electromagnetic wave scattering by real periodic structures and construct new devices for efficient spatial, frequency, and polarization signal selection.
