Low Noise, High Stability, X-Band Frequency Generator for on Board Satellite Equipment

At present. and still more in the future, the on board satellite equipments need frequency generators working at high frequencies. It´s possible, of course. to use the actual C Band frequency generators, followed by a proper chain of multipliers. However this choice involves an increase in size, weight and manufacturing costs. A new high stability low noise frequency generator working at X Band has been developed and tested. The output signal is phase locked to a quartz Master Oscillator reference signal in a Sampling Phase Lock Loop (SPLL).
