Abstract
Differential amplifiers are increasingly being used in RF and microwave applications, where noise performance is important. Until now, there has not been a method for measuring the full mixed-mode noise figure or differential noise parameters. Previous methods relied on scalar noise figure measurements which could not separate common and differential noise figure effects. In this paper we present for the first time a measurement method that fully compensates for mixed mode and impedance effects, and further, determines the differential noise parameters of the device under test.
