Abstract :
The process and experience of designing and developing an embedded systems course that serves different disciplines at the University of Jordan together with its associated laboratory is reported. The course serves three different departments with varying requirements and student initial backgrounds. The stages of the design process of the course and associated labs are explored. Emphasis is given throughout to the notion of systems design without losing track of the details involved in the design process. The design methodology used for the laboratory facilities and the learning outcomes are explored.
