Abstract :
Some engineering faculties advocate cooperative learning, while others embrace more traditional learning methods. Members of each educational camp contribute significantly to engineering education. Though many believe they are at opposite ends of the educational spectrum, this paper shows the value of merging competition and collaboration in the engineering classroom. The traditional dichotomy that exists combining between both camps does not have to continue. Both classroom perspectives have value and an important place in the future of designing new frontiers in engineering education
