Abstract :
Enterprises looking for agility and flexibility with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) are facing organizational, behavioral, political, and cultural issues in order to accomplish business expectations. In this paper we discuss how socio-technical aspects of SOA may be a key factor in minimizing those issues as well as in enhancing the IT governance of large organizations. Based on literature review and field experience, we outline key elements of socio-technical governance in service oriented environments.
