Abstract :
The author presents a nonredundant set for the bispectrum of 2-D discrete signals, based on the 12-fold symmetry property of the bispectrum. A nonredundant set for the bispectrum contains the minimum number of points such that the samples of the bispectrum at these points completely determine the bispectrum everywhere. The proposed nonredundant set provides considerable savings in computer time and memory space since by using the nonredundant set, it is necessary to compute and store each distinct bispectrum sample of a 2-D signal only once.<>
