The com side of things

Wireless telecommunication continues to grow, in number as well in features and data rate. Here some of the major challenges are mentioned, with a focus on radio and microwave aspects. One of the most important requirements is cost effective implementation - necessary in order to reach a majority of the Earths population! The always present hypes around mobile communications as spectrum aggregation, beamforming, MIMO, software defined radio, cognitive radio, linearity, efficiency et cetera are addressed. Not to forget the passive side as the need of filters-always hampering cost effective implementation.
