Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate the effect that fading correlation has on the average spectral efficiency (ASE) of the cross-layer system, combining of adaptive modulation (AM) and truncated automatic repeat request (T-ARQ) in the presence of STBC transmit diversity on Nakgami-m fading channels. We deduce the closed-form expressions for the ASE and average packet error rate (APER) of this STBC cross-layer scheme over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels. Furthermore, we present the numerical results by simulating that different correlation induces different loss of the average spectral efficiency compared with the independent fading over Nakagami-m channels.
