  • Abstract
The authors study the spatial patterns of trash (rubbish) accumulated on a roadside which have been generated by many pedestrians casting off trash in various environmental and traffic situations. They present a model describing pedestrian behavior on a road. The model consists of two systems: one controls walking motion of a pedestrian and the other determines when and where each pedestrian throws a piece of trash away. The control system is based on the social force model, and the system for casting off trash is made by using a counterpropagation network (neural network). To show how the model works practically, we simulated the model on a computer in some cases
