Abstract :
Constant Q, narrowband, computer generated tones were applied to different wavelet transforms (WTs) (Daubechies, Morlet, and a modified Morlet). The purpose is to explore the frequency resolution properties of the transform in a narrowband tone detection context. The modified Morlet WT is matched to the bandwidth of the tones and shown to exhibit the best performance.<>
