Abstract :
The zero-transition (ZT) technique significantly reduces the power losses across the DC/DC power converter switches during switch-on and -off. Unfortunately, most of the papers only discuss converters working in single quadrant operation. This paper introduces four-quadrant ZT DC/DC Luo-converters that are new prototypes of ZT converters. They perform soft-switching four-quadrant operation without significant voltage and current stresses, which effectively reduces the power losses and largely increases the power transfer efficiency. Test results verified the design and analysis.
