Abstract
Mobile devices have become the most loved and hated devices that employees cannot work and live without. For their primary usage as communication vehicles, mobile devices have surpassed any other mediums. But mobile devices come with a high price - interruptions anywhere, anytime. Due to untimely interruptions, employees experience negative emotions, leading to a loss of productivity. With the emergence of mobile device management (MDM) systems, the number of interruptions employees experience on a daily basis can grow rapidly. However, interruption management has gained no attention in the area of MDM systems. As an attempt to fill a gap in this area, we build an event-driven architecture to integrate interruption management into MDM systems, without exhausting the limited resources of mobile devices, which are typically battery life, processing power and network bandwidth.
