Abstract :
Shadows could be separated into two groups: symmetric and unsymmetrical shadows. In symmetric shadow condition modules shaded are in full dark state (e.g. at sunset) but in unsymmetrical shadow some modules maybe have half sun state (e.g. shadow caused by passing clouds). Different array configurations show different behavior against partial shading condition. Arrays behavior depend on number of serial and parallel connected modules, bypass and blocking diodes, interconnections and etc. This paper compares different configurations of 9-module array under shadow condition with both experimental and simulation works.
