Title :
Technology transfer and licensing
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Intellectual property rights (IPR) are very wide in scope. Patents in particular enable the patentee to claim a variety of monopoly rights covering various potential embodiments of his inventive concept. The broad scope of IPR facilitates temporal, geographical and technical (field of use) sub-division. The author shows how this capability for sub-division provides a very powerful mechanism or tool in commercial dealings because of the flexibility of application and range of market protection it affords.
