Abstract :
The paper presents measurement data of the dielectric constant of softwood (such as spruce, pine, cedar, fir), which have been conducted by the resonator method in the range of 3 - 12 GHz. A contrast to the dielectric properties of deciduous and coniferous trees has been noted, as well as the dependence of the area of upgrowth. The impact of the weight moisture on the dielectric properties of wood has been researched. The results can be used for remote sensing of forest cover.
