Abstract
The MOPS initiative recognises that organization and people are an important consideration in manufacturing systems implementation which hitherto was largely ignored. HUMAN CENTRED SYSTEMS Ltd has been involved in developing usable information technology tools to help bridge the gap between manufacturing systems and their users who need information not data. It was a natural extension to these developments that they should get involved in its practical application through Project BESTMAN. Here, the author attempts to explain the work done, and give an indication of the tangible benefits of applying the methodology.
