CIGNET-Continuous Improvement Group NETwork

The author describes CIGNET, the Continuous Improvement Group NETwork, which is an industry based collaborative research project into current best practice in continuous improvement (CI) initiatives in the North West of the UK. The project is led by NIMTECH The North West Regional Technology Centre who provide programme management and CI expertise. Best practice is researched in the core industrial companies and will contribute towards the generation of methodology and software applications. A group of three local network organisations effectively manage the dissemination of the project findings as well as arranging individual assistance for CI initiatives (embryonic or well established) to regional manufacturing industry.
