Abstract :
In this paper, the authors present a flatness-based analysis of a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) where a saponification reaction between ethyl acetate and sodium hydroxide is taking place. A nonlinear model represents the reactor and as consequence of the flatness property we can make an explicit analysis of the reactor by formally calculating the reactor variables as functions of the flat outputs and their time derivatives. The equations that show that the reactor is a flat system are deduced in the work
