Abstract :
The construction of a 1300-nm connectorized single-mode transmitter module is discussed. The compact optical system (total conjugate below 8 mm) is built around a molded aspheric mini-lens designed to have reduced sensitivity to positioning errors. Measurement of the power coupled to a sample of 20 ferruled single-mode fibers yielded a distribution with a standard deviation of 1.1 dB
