Abstract :
An on-board scheduling algorithm is developed for scheduling tasks on a spacecraft. For off-line scheduling, a heuristic routine generates a feasible schedule and order-based genetic algorithms improve the schedule. For online scheduling, two heuristic routines generate a good schedule in near real-time. The on-board scheduling algorithm is applied to a large problem of 1000 tasks, 100 resources and 365 time units. The results were successful. The on-board scheduling algorithm could generate various schedules according to time requirements
