Abstract
In this paper, we describe a web-based service that visualizes sensing data in an urban public space. The sensing data obtained from multiple sensor devices are visualized with three-dimensional graphical models of physical objects (e.g., buildings) in the space to provide a single integrated view of the sensing status in a web browser window. The view is continuously updated based on the latest sensing data so as to show the current status in the space. As the view is rendered by the application that runs within a web browser, the status can be seen from different points of view interactively. We present a service that visualizes human activities, such as pedestrian flows and environmental sounds, based on sensor devices installed in a public space at a shopping center in Tokyo.
