Abstract :
Is it possible to create one idealized parallel com puter model to provide an interface between hardware and software performance that supports a machineindependent framework for specifying various compu tational costs? Is it necessary to have more than one? What attributes should this model(s) have? Does such a model(s) exist today? How can we create such a model(s)? Is it important to have such a model(s)?
