Abstract
Piezoelectric transformers (PT) have become interesting for miniaturizing low power AC/DC or DC/DC converters. In this paper, interleaving of primary and secondary electrodes of the PT is analyzed in order to optimize the converter solutions based on PT. One of the problems to achieve a competitive PT converter is the additional magnetic components necessary to drive properly the PT. The main advantage of interleaving structures compared to the conventional one is that it allows reduction or even elimination of these additional elements, which is a step forward to improve converters based on PT.
