Abstract :
High resolution images provide more clarity and information in many applications such as medical imaging, satellite imaging, industrial inspection, surveillance etc. Super resolution is the method of obtaining a high-resolution image from one or more low-resolution observations of a scene. Various approaches are proposed to improve the resolution of images using signal processing algorithms. In this paper, we have addressed the issue concerned to methods yielding improved quality of images. Many approaches have found their own methods of treating the low resolution images. We have explained different existing methods to produce high resolution images. We summarized the comparative study of existing methods that may be helpful for selection of appropriate method according to resources and applications.
