Abstract :
A proper grounding system with minimum resistance is very import for safe operation of electrical appliances. This paper presents the measurement of grounding resistance by U-shape and square grids. From the experimental results, an empirical relationship between the grounding resistance and length of the buried grids is developed by using regression analysis. Moreover, saltwater is used to find its effect on the measurement. The value of the grounding resistance is measured 8.42 Ω for U-shape grid and 0.5 Ω for square grid by using saltwater.
