Abstract :
A new type of 3-D fan filter has been proposed which passes undistorted all targets over a specified velocity set while providing maximum noise attenuation. Unlike the 3-D matched filter the fan filter avoids velocity mismatch over the velocity set for which it is designed. Analytical expressions for the SNR improvement of these filters which facilitate the design of banks of these filters as well as performance trade-off studies are obtained.<>
