Abstract
Providing high quality communications service among mobile wireless devices is a challenging task in ad hoc networks. Several routing schemes have been proposed in the context of ad hoc sensor network. Some of them use multiple paths to forward a data packet. The main objectives of multipath routing protocols are to provide reliable communication and to ensure load balancing as well as to improve quality of service (QoS) of MANETs. In this article we have proposed a route selection strategy for an existing energy efficient multipath routing algorithm to provide reliable as well as fast data transmission. Simulation results show this method successfully selects the best route among several available paths.
