Abstract
An investigation of the influence of flame retardant on discharge character, discharge quantity and discharge energy occurring on polycarbonate was examined. The discharge characteristics of modified polycarbonate by adding flame retardant, varying from 0% to 15%, were analyzed. The experiment was carried out with a dc pulse voltage. The power supply was 30 kV with a frequency of 60 Hz. The experimental results revealed that the discharge quantity and discharge energy increased with increasing content of flame retardant. The CTI of the modified polycarbonate was also discussed.
