Abstract :
Results regarding reconstruction and modifications of multiscale (wavelet) maxima and zero-crossings representations are presented. The work is based on a general signal description, called an inherently bounded adaptive quasi-linear representation (AQLR), motivated by two important examples: the wavelet maxima representation and the wavelet zero-crossings representation. The convergence of two novel reconstruction algorithms is guaranteed for all inherently bounded AQLRs. Modifications in the basic multiscale maxima representation which make it possible to trade-off between amount of required information and the reconstruction quality are described.<>
