Abstract :
The experimental study of output power increase in 2 mm orotron with double-row periodic structure and semispherical open resonator by means of introducing an additional electron beam was performed. This additional plane electron beam was situated over second row of periodic structure used in experiment. Theoretically It is shown that when the caustic radius to radiation wavelength has ratio rc /λ ≅ 2, the effect of power increase is possible in all frequency tuning range of orotron. But in experiment it was observed for rc /λ ≅ 1.7.
